SAP 2009 & Part L1A 2010

LEGISLATION UPDATE
SAP 2009, Part L1A 2010 and Thermal Bridging

This training session is designed to provide participants with a full understanding of the implications of the forthcoming changes to the SAP (Standard Assessment Procedure) energy rating calculation procedures in SAP 2009 and the new Part L1A of the Building Regulations, which will come into effect in October 2010.

The most significant change from an assessor’s perspective is that it will no longer be possible to simply default an overall y-value (apart from a punitively high 0.15 W/m2K). Therefore an understanding of how to calculate y-values will become much more important and the majority of this training session will be devoted to covering in depth the principles underlying the assessment of heat losses through thermal bridging.

The session will be of interest to anyone involved in the design or assessment of new homes to meet the energy and environmental standards required by the Building Regulations and the Code for Sustainable Homes and the proposed standards for Fabric Energy Efficiency associated with the latest definition of ‘Zero Carbon Homes’.

The training will be presented by our Energy Management Consultant who has almost 20 years experience of delivering training courses and providing advice and consultancy on energy efficiency and environmental assessment, including SAP.
